В темноте мерцает он,
На его пушистой шкурке,
Загогулин миллион.

А на морде - для красы -
Врастопыр бровеусы.

Ни мурлыка и ни мява.
Он так важен потому,
Что сейчас придут хозЯва,
И начнут служить ему...

Будут гладить-миловать,
Спать положат на кровать!

Portrait of my lovely cat Murka taken by my son during a very funny session we ha with her to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Year of the Cat. Shooting her wasn't the easiest thing to do, believe me!

Here's a translation of the poem:

A cat looks like an owl,
But still called a cat.
She sits on the settle in the living room
Curled in her own tail.

Through the cracks,
She glows in the dark,
And on her soft furr
There are a million doodles,

And her little muzzle is decorated
With countless whiskers all around.

She's still, not purring nor meowing,
But she's so important
That her owners soon come
To serv her.

They'll cuddle her and caress her,
And then put her to sleep in the bed!
