Description

This was built, together with Porta Cividale, in 1605. This gate houses two big wheels which were used to lift the drawbridge. On the external façade St. Mark’s lion lay on a base between two small obelisks. Inside there are fireplaces and halls for the officers on guard duty and for the Constable of Health.
