When I was a child, this statue of Perseus (Cellini) make me great fright. I saw it as part of a school field trip. The other kids noticed that Medusa's head looked a lot like Perseus himself, and started laughing, «Perseus holds Perseus' head!». I noticed, however, that the head still had female features and was older. And I imagined that Perseus had cut off his mother's head... For many years, the mere memory of that statue made me cringe.
